Manufacturing & Factories
Factories and manufacturing floors run some of the most heavily used electrical equipment in any industry. The wear and tear is constant, the risks are real, and the compliance obligations are serious. We provide test and tag services across Melbourne manufacturing and industrial sites, scheduled around your production, not the other way around.

Manufacturing & Factories
Big Sites, Lots of Equipment
A factory floor might have hundreds of tools, machines, extension leads, portable appliances, and RCDs all running simultaneously. Getting all of it tested, tagged, and properly documented is a serious job, and one that needs to be done without stopping your production line. We’re used to working in industrial environments. Our technicians move efficiently, know how to work around operating machinery, and test systematically so nothing gets skipped.
Testing intervals for manufacturing environments typically sit at 6 months for most equipment, shorter for high-wear items or harsh conditions. We keep track of your schedule and send reminders when your next test is coming up. Every visit produces a full itemised digital report broken down by equipment type and location, so your WHS manager always knows where things stand.
FAQs
Manufacturing & Factories FAQs
How often does factory equipment need to be tested and tagged?
Most manufacturing environments require testing every 6 months. Harsher conditions, high heat, moisture, and heavy physical use may bring that interval down. We assess the environment when we first visit and recommend a schedule that fits your actual risk level, not just the minimum requirement.
Can you test the equipment while the factory is running?
In most cases, yes. We work around active operations, testing equipment that’s not in use, coordinating with floor supervisors to access machinery during breaks or shift changeovers, and generally getting through the site without holding up production. For large sites, we can stage the testing across a few visits if needed.
Do you test three-phase equipment and industrial machinery?
Our testing covers portable and moveable electrical equipment as defined under AS/NZS 3760, which includes most of what’s on a typical factory floor. For fixed plant and machinery, different standards apply. We’ll let you know what falls within scope and what doesn’t when we assess your site.
We have a large site with hundreds of items. Can you handle that?
That’s our bread and butter. Large industrial sites with high item counts are something we do regularly. We work in teams when needed, track every item as we go, and deliver a complete itemised report at the end. Nothing slips through the cracks.
What documentation do you provide after testing?
A complete digital record, itemised by equipment type, location, and result, technician ID, test date, and next due date. It’s structured so your WHS manager can use it directly for your internal records and any WorkSafe audit.
