Frequently Asked Questions

Is electrical test and tag a legal requirement in Australia?
Yes. Under the Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act, employers must ensure a safe workplace — which includes maintaining all electrical equipment. The AS/NZS 3760:2022 standard sets out the testing and tagging requirements for in-service electrical equipment across Australia.
Anything that plugs into a standard power outlet — including extension leads, power tools, laptop chargers, fridges, printers, microwaves, and more. This covers both company-owned equipment and personal items brought into the workplace by staff.
It depends on your environment. Construction and demolition sites require testing every 3 months; workshops and manufacturing every 6 months; office environments every 12 months to 5 years. Our technicians will assess your site and advise the correct schedule.
Minimal disruption. Each item is only offline for a couple of minutes while it’s being tested. Our technicians always ask before unplugging anything in use and work efficiently around your team. Most sites are completed in a single visit.
The item is immediately tagged “Out of Service” so it can’t be mistakenly used. Our technician will flag it in your report, explain the reason for failure, and recommend the appropriate action — whether that’s removal, repair, or replacement.
You receive a full digital asset register listing every item tested with pass/fail status, a Certificate of Compliance, and a follow-up reminder when your next testing cycle is due — all delivered same-day to your inbox.
